You remember the ‘Super Game’ ad that had guys all over the U.S. asking “Whazz-Up?” as a greeting, it spoke volumes about our need to know about our friends. The way that ad took off shows how we as humans are by our nature very social creatures. The age old questions of what to do on the weekend and with who still exists. Which restaurant? Are you playing WOW or XBox 360? Is there a band to go check out or just chill with your friends?

But HOW do we communicate now?
On a Friday afternoon at 4pm, do we pick up the phone and start calling around? Do computer lines start humming with emails? Is it instant messaging or texting on Blackberries, if the boss won’t allow emails?

Or do we TWITTER?
If all your friends, their friends and people you don’t know can follow your tweeting, then what are the social norms on Twitter? Most chat rooms have rules now; no shouting, be polite in the chat room, ways to phrase, behavior online, safety, etc… There are informal ‘rules’ at the office water cooler, a cocktail party and even the martini bar. Leisure Suit Larry might tag along uninvited otherwise.

What advice do you have for a newbie to Twitter?
